We started our journey from Rajkot, and over the next three days, we visited some of the most sacred places in Gujarat. The itinerary was well planned, allowing us to enjoy every destination without feeling rushed.
Here’s our complete travel experience.
Day 1 – Arrival at Rajkot & Divine Blessings at Somnath
Our journey began early in the morning as we reached Rajkot Railway Station. Our private AC vehicle was already waiting for us. The driver greeted us warmly, helped us with our luggage, and we immediately started our drive towards Somnath.
The drive itself was enjoyable. Gujarat’s roads are excellent, making the journey smooth and comfortable. Throughout the drive, we passed villages, farms, and small towns, giving us a glimpse of local life.
After reaching Somnath around afternoon, we checked into our comfortable hotel. The rooms were clean and spacious, perfect for relaxing after the journey.
After lunch and some rest, we began exploring.
Bhalka Tirth
Our first stop was Bhalka Tirth, a place of great importance in Hindu mythology. It is believed that Lord Krishna was struck by an arrow here before leaving the earthly world.
The temple atmosphere was peaceful. Unlike crowded tourist places, everyone here seemed calm and devoted. We spent some quiet moments praying and understanding the history of the place.
Triveni Sangam
Next, we visited Triveni Sangam, where three rivers are believed to meet before joining the Arabian Sea.
The evening breeze, flowing water, and peaceful surroundings made it one of our favorite places. We sat near the river for almost half an hour simply enjoying nature.

Evening at Somnath Temple
Nothing prepared us for our first view of the magnificent Somnath Temple.
Standing beside the Arabian Sea, the temple looks grand and powerful. As the sun slowly disappeared behind the sea, the golden temple glowed beautifully.
We attended the evening darshan and later watched the famous Light & Sound Show.
The show beautifully explained the history of Somnath Temple, its repeated destruction and reconstruction, and the unwavering faith of millions of devotees.
It was emotional, inspiring, and worth watching.
After dinner, we returned to the hotel with peaceful hearts.
Day 2 – Road Trip to Dwarka
We woke up early, enjoyed breakfast, and checked out from the hotel. Today’s destination was Dwarka, one of the Char Dham pilgrimage sites and the kingdom of Lord Krishna.
The drive was comfortable, with beautiful coastal landscapes along the way.
Bhadkeshwar Mahadev Temple
Our first stop was the unique Bhadkeshwar Mahadev Temple.
Built on a small rocky island surrounded by the sea, the temple offers breathtaking views.
When waves hit the rocks around the temple, the experience becomes magical.

Rukmini Temple
Our next destination was the beautiful Rukmini Temple.
Although smaller than Dwarkadhish Temple, its architecture is stunning.
The carvings on the temple walls are incredibly detailed.
The guide narrated the story of Lord Krishna and Goddess Rukmini, making the visit even more meaningful.
Gomti Ghat
Later, we visited Gomti Ghat.
Pilgrims were taking holy dips while birds flew across the river. Small shops selling flowers, prasad, and souvenirs lined both sides.
We enjoyed walking along the ghat while sipping fresh sugarcane juice.
This place perfectly combines spirituality with local culture.
Evening Darshan at Dwarkadhish Temple
As sunset approached, we reached the famous Dwarkadhish Temple.
The temple was crowded, but the management handled everything very well.
Standing inside the temple while devotees chanted “Jai Dwarkadhish” gave us goosebumps.
The evening aarti was one of the highlights of our entire trip.
The atmosphere was full of devotion.
Watching thousands of devotees praying together was truly unforgettable.
After dinner, we returned to our hotel in Dwarka.
We spent the night discussing the day’s experiences and sharing our favorite moments.
Day 3 – Nageshwar Jyotirlinga & Bet Dwarka
Although we were nearing the end of our journey, the excitement remained high.
Nageshwar Jyotirlinga
The first destination was Nageshwar Jyotirlinga, one of the twelve sacred Jyotirlingas dedicated to Lord Shiva.
The giant Shiva statue welcomes visitors from a distance.
The temple complex is clean, peaceful, and beautifully maintained.
We offered prayers and spent some quiet time inside.
It was one of the most spiritually satisfying moments of our trip.
Bet Dwarka
Next, we headed towards the jetty to catch a boat for Bet Dwarka.
The short boat ride itself became a memorable experience.
The cool sea breeze, flying birds, and endless blue water made everyone smile.
Bet Dwarka is believed to be the original residence of Lord Krishna.
Walking through the narrow streets filled with local shops gave us a chance to experience the local culture.
We also purchased some souvenirs and sweets before returning.
Journey Back
After lunch, it was finally time to begin our return journey towards Jamnagar/Rajkot Railway Station.
Although we were heading home, none of us wanted the trip to end.
Three days had passed quickly, but the memories would stay with us forever.

Travelling by private AC vehicle made the journey relaxing.
Instead of feeling tired, we enjoyed chatting, listening to music, and admiring the changing landscapes.

The ideal months are:
- October to March for pleasant weather.
- Shravan month for devotees of Lord Shiva.
- Winter season offers comfortable sightseeing.
Avoid peak summer afternoons if possible.

Travelling with another couple made every moment more enjoyable. Whether it was laughing during the road trip, watching the sunset at Somnath, attending the evening aarti at Dwarkadhish Temple, or taking the boat ride to Bet Dwarka, every experience felt special.
