Gokarna is a Hindu pilgrimage town in Karnataka and a newly found hub for beach lovers and hippies. Situated on the coast of Karwar. its stretch of beautiful, sandy beaches. Gokarna is divided into two parts, one that is for the religious devotee who comes to seek blessings of Shiva, and the other of the carefree tourist looking for some peace and quiet in nature’s lap.
The name Gokarna is made of two words, gau meaning cow and karna meaning ear, translating to cow’s ear. The reason for such a name is associated with its roots in mythology and also its geography. According to one story, the reason for naming this place Gokarna is because it is at the confluence of two rivers Gangavati and Aghanashini and this looks like a cow’s ear.
Murdeshwar Temple
Another temple town in Karnataka is Murdeshwar which is another name for Shiva and has the second-tallest Shiva statue in the world. The legend of this place is also associated with the same story of Shiva and Ravana. As we mentioned earlier, Ravana obtained the atmalingam from Shiva after a strong penance but he was tricked by the gods and the lingam got fixed in the ground. In his attempt to detach it from the earth, Ravana managed to scratch off a few pieces of the lingam and threw them in different directions. Wherever these fell, you will find temples around them. While a piece did not fall off the lingam in Murudeshwar but the cloth covering the atmalingam fell here and the Murudeshwar Temple is built around the same spot.
Lying along the periphery of the majestic Murudeshwar Temple is the beautiful beach by the same name. Overlooking the monumental statue of Lord Shiva, this beach is the perfect picnic spot for families and loved ones. The sand of this beach is quite excellent, and its silky texture is not very common.

We’ll be boarding the train from our nearest railway station. Train timings are shared below for convenience.
Meeting Point : Meet our team at Mumbai LTT at 03:00 PM
We will be catching the MATSYAGANDHA EX (12619) on friday. Overnight Journey toward Gokarna Road Station.

04:22 pm – Panvel
Itinerary
Day 1 – Departure from Mumbai
03:00 pm – Overnight Journey toward Gokarna Road Station.
Day 2 – Gokarna – Yana Caves – Vibhuti Waterfall
03:00 am – Reach Gokarna Station
04:00 am – Reach to our Home Stay, rooms will be allotted just for Freshen up & to relax.
06:00 am – Breakfast & Get ready for sight seeing
07:00 am – Move towards Yana Caves and Vibhuti waterfall
08:30 am – Reach the destination and explore surroundings
02:00 pm – while returning visit Mirjan fort
04:00 pm – Return back to stay and rest.
06:00 pm – Sit back and watch the setting sun at Gokarna Beach
09:00 pm – Dinner Time
10:00 pm – Stories, Games and then sleep time
Day 3 – Beach Trek
06:00 am – Wake up call
06:00 am – Breakfast & Get ready for the Beach Trek
07:00 am – Start Beach Trek.
Kudle Beach, Om Beach, Half Moon Beach, Paradise Beach, Bellakkan Beach.
( If anyone dont want to go on beach trek they can hire a bike or auto and visit these beaches )
02:00 pm – Return back to stay & Rest
03:30 pm – Gokarna Local Sightseeing – Explore Temples, Market, Shopping (Self exploratory & Optional)
06:00 pm – Sit back and watch the setting sun at Gokarna Beach
09:00 pm – Dinner Time
10:00 pm – Stories, Games and then sleep time
Day 4 – Gokarna to Murudeshwar Tempe
07:00 am – Wake up time
07:30 am – Get fresh and have breakfast
08:30 am – After breakfast depart to Murudeshwar
10:00 am – Visit Honnavar Backwater and Murdeshwar Temple
01:00 pm – Explore Temple Surroundings
04:00 pm – Leave for the Railway station .
05:00 pm – Catch MATSYAGANDA EXP (12620)
Day 5 – Reached Mumbai
6:35 am – Reach your destination with lots of stories to share and sweet memories

Important Notes
- Considering it is an outdoor activity, please prepare accordingly.
- We advise participants with any medical issues /history not to opt for this event. Still If he/she does so, it should be at the participant’s risk. The management will not be responsible for any incident.
- Do not carry Heavy Luggage, we recommend you to carry a backpack if possible.
- Be Prepared for 3 days sightseeing in cool / humid climate, almost it usually remains hot during the day, carry sunglasses, caps
- We would change a few transports based on availability, as the overall year used to be full of tourists.
- We request you to go through the complete itinerary. Since it is a group event, we will not be in a position to entertain any request of leaving early from the event. Respecting the fellow trek buddies, please adhere to the schedule and take back lovely memories.
