About Kedarnath
Kedarnath Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to the Hindu God Shiva. The name “Kedarnath” means “the lord of the field”: it derives from the Sanskrit words kedara (“field”) and natha (“lord”). The temple is located on the Garhwal Himalayan range near the Mandakini river, in the state of Uttarakhand, India. Due to extreme weather conditions, the temple is open to the general public only between the months of April (Akshaya Tritiya) and November (Kartik Purnima, the autumn full moon).
The temple is not directly accessible by road and has to be reached by a 22 kilometres (14 mi) uphill trek from Gaurikund. According to Hindu legends, the temple was initially built by Pandavas, and is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, the holiest Hindu shrines of Shiva. Pandavas were supposed to have pleased Shiva by doing penance in Kedarnath. The temple is one of the four major sites in India’s Chota Char Dham pilgrimage of Northern Himalayas and is the first of the Panch Kedar pilgrimage sites. This temple is the highest among the 12 Jyotirlingas.
The temple, at a height of 3,583 m (11,755 ft), 223 km (139 mi) from Rishikesh, on the shores of Mandakini river, a tributary of Ganga, is a stone edifice of unknown date. It is not certain who built the original Kedarnath temple and when.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 01 : Mumbai / Pune – Delhi
- Will Catch the train 12909NZM GARIB RATH from Mumbai at 05:59 PM
Day 02 : Departure to Haridwar from Delhi
- Reach Delhi and depart for Haridwar by afternoon. Free time is available in evening to explore Haridwar by urself
- Meal: Dinner
Day 03 : Haridwar – Sonprayag / Sersi
- After early morning breakfast check out and drive for Sonprayag/sersi.
- Check in at hotel. Rest of the day free time to self exploration
- Meal: Breakfast Dinner
Day 04 : Kedarnath Trek : Sonprayag – Gaurikund – Kedarnath
- The journey towards Gaurikund begins at Sonprayag after having a succulent breakfast early in the morning.
- Start your trek from Gaurikund to Kedarnath (or by Pony / Doli at your own cost).
- The moderate level trek starts from Gaurikund and continues till Kedarnath for about 22kms. (Endurance – High)
- Meal: Breakfast Dinner
Day 05 : Kedarnath – Sonprayag
- We can bid prayers to the Kedarnath at the time of sunrise. Standing in the queue to offer the devotion to Lord Shiva for a few hours is worth the wait.
- As soon as we step out of Kedarnath temple, we must return to Sonprayag
- Meal: Breakfast Dinner
Day 06 : Sonprayag – Rishikesh
- Early morning, after breakfast, you drive downhill to Rishikesh a profound city and the Yoga capital of the world. On the way we will visit Rudraprayag & Devprayag
- Overnight stay at Rishikesh
- Meal: Breakfast Dinner
Day 07 : Rishikesh Adventure and late-night train to Delhi
- We head out for 10 – 12km River Rafting ( Own cost ) & rest of time to self explore Rishikesh
- In the Late Evening leave for Delhi.
Day 08 : Reach Delhi early morning, Mumbai
- Reach Delhi early morning by 6 am.
- Participants can take their flights & Train 12215 BDTS GARIB RATH according to convenience
Day 09 : Reach Mumbai
- Reach home after divine experience & with Memories for Lifetime

Special Note
- In case of ill health or any other reason, if any participant has to turn back to base, the cost of heading back to base (Travel + Porter) along with the Cost of stay in base has to be borne by the Participant himself/herself.

- Bottled Water, Soft Drinks, Laundry Charges, Room Service, incidentals, porter charges Or any other expense of personal nature

- Difference in cost arising due to mishaps, political unrest, natural calamities, etc. In such cases extra cost incurred due to an illness, accident, hospitalization or any Individual unforeseen cost incurring incident will have to be paid on the spot by the guest directly.

Important Notes
- Considering it is an outdoor activity, please prepare accordingly.
- We advise participants with any medical issues /history not to opt for this event. Still If he/she does so, it should be at the participant’s risk. The management will not be responsible for any incident.
- Do not carry Suitcase or Heavy Luggage, we recommend you to carry a backpack.
- It’s a Backpacking Trip / Trek, not a Luxury Trip; we would change a few transports based on availability, as the overall year used to be full of tourists.
- We request you to go through the complete itinerary. Since it is a group event, we will not be in a position to entertain any request of leaving early from the event. Respecting the fellow trek buddies, please adhere to the schedule and take back lovely memories.
