About Jog Falls
Jog Falls is a waterfall on the Sharavati river located in the Western Ghats of Sagar Taluk of Shivamogga District, Karnataka, India. It is the third highest plunge waterfall in India. Created on Sharavathi River, Jog Falls is also known by alternative names of Gerusoppe Falls, Gersoppa Falls and Jogada Gundi.
Jog Falls gushing down from a height of 253 meters. The river originates at Ambuthirtha in Thirthahalli taluk, flows north-west through the Western Ghats forming the Jog Falls before joining the Arabian Sea at Honavar.
About Murudeshwar Temple
Another temple town in Karnataka is Murudeshwar which is another name for Shiva and has the second-tallest Shiva statue in the world. The legend of this place is also associated with the same story of Shiva and Ravana. As we mentioned earlier, Ravana obtained the atmalingam from Shiva after a strong penance but he was tricked by the gods and the lingam got fixed in the ground. In his attempt to detach it from the earth, Ravana managed to scratch off a few pieces of the lingam and threw them in different directions. Wherever these fell, you will find temples around them. While a piece did not fall off the lingam in Murudeshwar but the cloth covering the atmalingam fell here and the Murudeshwar Temple is built around the same spot.
Lying along the periphery of the majestic Murudeshwar Temple is the beautiful beach by the same name. Overlooking the monumental statue of Lord Shiva, this beach is the perfect picnic spot for families and loved ones. The sand of this beach is quite excellent, and its silky texture is not very common.

03:00 pm – After brief instructions start Trek till Jog fall base
05:30 pm – Return back to the starting point.
06:00 pm – Reach hotel and freshen up
07:00 pm – Enjoy Light & Sound Show at Jog Fall
09:00 pm – Have dinner, few group activities, share stories etc. and silent hours.
Day 2 – Sunday
06:00 am – Wake up call
07:00 am – Have breakfast and freshen up
08:30 am – Check out and move toward Murudeshwar Temple
11:30 am – Reach Murudeshwar Temple. Explore temple & Beach
02:00 pm – Lunch time
04:30 pm – Reach Murudeshwar Station
05:00 pm – Catch 12620/ Matsyagandha Express (Overnight Journey in the train)

06:35 am – Reach your destination with lots of stories to share and sweet memories

Important Notes
- Considering it is an outdoor activity, please prepare accordingly.
- We advise participants with any medical issues /history not to opt for this event. Still If he/she does so, it should be at the participant’s risk. The management will not be responsible for any incident.
- Do not carry Suitcase or Heavy Luggage, we recommend you to carry a backpack.
- It’s a Backpacking Trip, not a Luxury Trip; we would change a few transports based on availability, as the overall year used to be full of tourists.
- We request you to go through the complete itinerary. Since it is a group event, we will not be in a position to entertain any request of leaving early from the event. Respecting the fellow buddies, please adhere to the schedule and take back lovely memories.
