Prabalmachi is situated between Matheran and Panvel in Raigad District in Maharashtra, India. A rustic village, the base of Fort Prabalgad and Kalavantin, is filled with greenery and is away from hustle and bustle of city. Height of the Prabalmachi village is 390 metres above sea level.The Prabalgad Fort stands at an elevation of 2,300 feet  in the Western Ghats. The fort was previously known as Muranjan until it was taken over and renamed by the Maratha forces under Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s rule. The fort has a Ganesh temple and some unidentified stone ruins. Its sister fort is Irshalgad. Right next to Prabalgad, to its north, lies the steep Kalavantin fort. Prabalmachi provides an amazing view of the two fort standing tall and facing each other. The mild breeze in the evening and traditional food by the villagers adds to the experience.

Travel Schedule

We’ll be boarding the below train from nearest local station. Train timings are shared below for convenience:

9th August 2026 (Sunday): Catch the 06:00 AM CSMT-Panvel train from CSMT.

Please ensure you board the same local train as mentioned below. If you miss this train, you will miss the trek. No alternative arrangements will be provided.

Train Timings: 06:00 AM CSMT | 06:18 AM Vadala Road | 06:29 AM Kurla | 06:40 AM Mankhurd | 06:49 AM Vashi | 06:58 AM Nerul | 07:05 AM Belapur CBD| 07:20 AM Panvel

Meeting Point: Panvel Railway Station (Near Ticket Window) at 07:30 AM.

Itinerary

• 07:30 AM – Meet the team at Panvel Railway Station.
• 07:45 AM – Travel to the base village by shared taxi/private vehicle/tum-tum.
• 08:00 AM – Breakfast and refreshment break.
• 09:00 AM – Arrive at the base village.
• 09:15 AM – Introduction session and briefing on safety guidelines and trek rules.
• 11:15 AM – Reach the summit and enjoy the scenic views and sense of achievement.
• 12:00 PM – Lunch break
• 01:15 PM – Begin the descent towards the base village.
• 02:30 PM – Reach the base village and proceed to Panvel Railway Station by private transport.
• 04:00 PM – Arrive at Panvel Railway Station and conclude the trip.

Event Fee: Rs.750/- per person. Payment once done is non-refundable, do check for availability before making a payment.

The cost per head includes the following.

• • • Lunch at Prabalmachi around Rs. 250/-
    • All kinds of extra meals / soft drinks ordered.
    • Insurance, tips, porters, bottled mineral water, aerated drinks etc.
    • Any kind of personal expenses.
    • Any kind of cost which is not mentioned in the cost includes above.
    • All expenses incurred due to unforeseen and unavoidable circumstances like road blocks, bad weather.

Things to carry

• • • Some ready to eat food like- plum cakes, fruits, chocolates, biscuits, etc
    • 2 Litres of water must
    • Good trekking shoes
    • Power bank
    • Wind cheater optional
    • Torch with new batteries
    • Extra pair of clothes, socks optional
    • Cap, Camera as Optional
    • 1 packet of electoral, enerzal, glucon-D
    • Medications if required for individual
    • Avoid wearing precious ornaments on an event, if possible
    • And a haversack or backpack to put all the above things to be carried, so hands are free to help each other while trekking. Sling bags / jholas / trolley bags etc not allowed on the event. Please pack accordingly.

Important Notes

• • • Toilet facility will be available at the base village.
    • We advise participant with any medical issues /history not to opt for this event. Still If he/she does so, it should be at the participant’s risk. The management won’t be responsible for any incident.
    • Parking facility is available at Base village
    • Smoking/drinking/smoke up is strictly prohibited during the event. Anyone found doing so will be immediately expelled from the event.
    • We request you to go through the complete itinerary. Since it is a group event, we will not be in position to entertain any request of leaving early from the event. Respecting the fellow trek mates, please adhere to the schedule and take back lovely memories.
